Hello, Wake County!

My name is Cheryl Stallings, and I serve on the Wake County Board of Commissioners, representing District 3. I’m a psychologist, business owner, and former Apex Town Council member. I was first elected to the County Commission in 2022, and I look forward to running for re-election in 2026!

I believe deeply in public service that puts people first. That’s why I’ve worked hard to invest in healthy and safe communities, support a strong public education system, protect our environment, expand access to affordable housing, and ensure our growing county is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

This year, 4 current Board members will be seeking re-election (Commissioners Adamson, Jackson, Mial and myself). The North Carolina General Assembly recently changed how Wake County Commissioners are elected. For these 4 current Commissioner seats, voters may only cast a ballot in the district where they live. So, while Commissioners still represent geographic districts, each race is decided only by the voters who live in that district.

Another change in the 2026 election year is that our Board will add 2 more seats (going from 7 to 9 members), both of which will be At-Large. All voters throughout the County will be able to choose who serves in these 2 seats.

I’m pleased with the work that our current Board has accomplished, but there is still more to do. And I’m ready to keep working for the people of District 3! Election Day is November 3, 2026, and I’d be honored to earn your vote.
